Re: H.I.T. Wall Presents Showcase a huge success!!
Our first annual H.I.T. Wall benefit show at the Pound in San Francisco turned out really well as we made over $1,200 for Bay Area American Red Cross. Huge "thank-yous" go out to all 11 H.I.T. Wall bands that participated in the benefit. Everyone rocked and the vibe in the crowd was very harmonious. Way cool...
Re: H.I.T. Wall Recording Update:
Matt has added a Macintosh/G4 and Protools to his arsenal to go along with a great sounding Otari MX-90 2 inch-24 track analog machine. Check out the recording page for contact #'s.

Re: H.I.T. Wall Presents Showcase: January 26, 2001

We have an official date for our first showcase. This will be a benefit for the local chapter of American Red Cross. The event will go down at the Pound in San Francisco on January 26, 2002. The showcase will feature all bands at H.I.T. Wall Studios. Heather, the booker at the Pound, has been nice enough to give us 100% of the door for our cause!! We'll have more details soon...

Re: H.I.T. Wall Recording: Open @ December 1, 2001
Matt will officially start recording bands again for the first time since the close of Downtown Rehearsal back in September of 2000. He'll be sportin' a 24 track-2 inch Otari as well as a new pro tools rig so come check it out.

Re: Full Capacity
We have finally finished building out the remaining space in our building, 11,000 sq. ft in all. We manageed to squeeze 7 more rooms out of the new space for a total of 32 rooms, which includes the office, located in Studio 116, and our two-room recording studio, in 201 and 202. It took Matt and I about 2 months to complete five of the six rooms. We started preliminary construction on or about the 15th of June and we had people moved in rooms 112, 113, 114, 115 and 117 by August 15th. 116 and 111 were ready as of September 1. Whew! Now mabye Matt and I can join everyone else soon and starting making our own music!
Re: News letter
I will put together a news letter later this month outlining, once again, how to initiate your alarm system as well as welcoming our new tenants in studios: 111, 112, 113, 114, 115, 117. Welcome to the club!!
Re: Waiting List Form
I have added an email section to the waiting list form to help insure that I have an easy way to get back to everyone who inquires about a room. Again, keep in mind now that all rooms have been built and are now occupied, it is more likely that a shared space will become available, as opposed to a leaseholder opportunity, but you never know...

Re: www.suckerschool.com:live music reviews
Our buddy Rick has put together a cool web site where he reviews local talent in the heart of San Francisco. Check out www.suckerschool.com and see what Rick has to say about a variety of live bands in the city. Updates usually occur once a week.

Re: Web Site Updates
Due to construction demands at H.I.T. Wall, this site has been pretty stale lately but all that will change soon enough. For those of you who have inquired about either getting on the waiting list or finding out about correct room prices, I will now have more time to devote to this stuff. Don't hesitate to email Matt and I at willnmatt@hitwall.com anytime to get on the waiting list.

Re: Baffles/Curtains

Matt and I have finished the baffles for each of the 23 rooms. Let us know what you think! Quantities were deteremined by size and acoustics of each room and our "limited budget".

We realize that only certain (window) rooms have their velvet curtains installed. Originally, we decided to give floor one the curtains first and the second floor the baffles first. Now that the baffles are done on both floors, we will concentrate on wrapping up the curtains for the rest of floor one and then floor two. Give us another couple of weeks to get 'em done.

Re: Progress: Leaseholder Agreements
As we will be opening our doors @ Sunday, April 1st, Matt and I would like to have all leaseholders come in on Saturday, March 31st to H.I.T. Wall and discuss and sign the individual agreements to insure that people get in on time so everyone can start rocking to their hearts content. I will start to make calls today to all tenants in regards to a good time to have the leaseholder agreements reviewed and signed.
Re: Progress: 2nd Floor

The second floor has been completetly painted as of yesterday. Our electrician started work on the light switches and plugs. He also started mounting the ceiling fans. We will start to hang the doors today with the help of our general contractor and the carpeting should come tommorow. Both doors and carpenting should be finished by Friday evening.

Re: Progress
We finally got the verbal from our general contractor that we should have all work done and should pass inspection by March 28th which would allow for rooms to be available on Sunday April 1, 2001. Whew!
The texturing on the 2nd floor was completed late last week and Matt and I, with the help of a sub, will finish the painting on the second floor today. The texturing on the 1st floor starts today and the painting should be finished by Friday. Stayed tuned for more updates...

Re: Available Studios
All 23 rooms are now booked but anyone still interested in getting on the waitng list can email Matt or Will at mattorwill@hitwall.com along with both a day and night-time number and we will give you a call if a room opens up.

The framing for all rooms was finished today and the electrician made his first appearance as did the alarm specialist.

Matt, who works everyday at the site, completed five(5) layers of flooring for our recording studio as of today as well; We both will continue to spending 12-15 hours a day, Saturday and Sunday for the remainder of February in hopes of opening our doors in early March.

Re: More stuff
Deconstruction of the first floor has started as of January 1, 2001 and will continue until the middle of next week. Construction on the second floor should start this week, January 8-12 with framing and drywall. I will have some photos of the preliminary construction for both the studios and H.I.T. Wall Recording up soon.
Live 105 plugged our song, "Never Got Mine" again by airing it at 9:30pm tonight and publicized, once again, H.I.T. Wall and the web site.

Re: H.I.T. Wall Studios
The loan went through for us last week so now the next hurdle is to present our business proposal to the city board next Thursday, December 7th. If we "get the job done" that evening, we will start demolition the following day.

Re: Room # changes:
I will be taking down the "Studios" pages to update on Thursday in order to make some corrections to the room numbers and dimensions. Please check back on Friday morning for availability.

For those who have claimed a room and/or have mailed in your deposit, please check back to take note of the changes to most rooms regarding numbering and slight room variations due to a ruling with the building commission.

Again, please bare in mind that the dimensions will continue to fluctuate slightly until construction is complete.
